It’s been a minute since I’ve given you an update with the blog and my business so here’s what’s coming…I have major goals for 2022 for this space and one of those major things is a subscription service so that you can access all the things I made for my course last year but in a more affordable way and easy to access. New material will still be added to the “course” library as well!

I will also be making more resources that go along with what I do for my social media consulting clients. These items will be made public so that if you are interested you can grab these as well!

My signature course is now not returning until 2022 therefore if you are wanting to work together still in 2021 you can only work with me 1:1 or invest in my presets or e-book.

For my social media consulting clients I am only taking on 2 more clients max so if this is something you are interested in doing You have to sign up by the second week of October so we can make some changes by the end of the year.

1 Year Self-Employed! We Made It!

Happy Wednesday, friends!

This week is another huge milestone and one that probably means the most to me!

Today is the one year anniversary of me leaving my 9-5 office job to pursue my dream of working for myself. This is something I never thought would be possible and just a dream that I would talk about but never truly pursue. To leave the comfort of a consistent paycheck is the scariest thing I’ve probably ever done to be honest!

2020 taught us a lot of things and there were a lot of things that accumulated to help me make that decision to leave. I thought if not now then when? When would I take the leap and bet on myself? So after everything we went through in 2020 I got the push I needed and just did it!

It helps that I had the support of my husband and my business coach and my friends and family but I knew even some of them thought I was a little crazy, but here we are 1 year later and I wouldn’t give this rollercoaster up for anything!

No the journey hasn’t been easy AT ALL but all the blood, sweat, and tears have been worth it and will continue to be worth it as I continue to build my brand and my business! I’m blessed that I can work from anywhere at any time. I’m grateful that this year so far I’ve been able to take mental health days when needed and a 7 day vacation with my family without worrying about using all my PTO or what I’m going to come back to once the trip is over. I’m so happy I can have lunch with my dad or take the day off when my mom has the day off, all things I couldn’t do before. I now have the FREEDOM to live a life that I want and am proud of!

I have a long way to go but in the one year I’ve come so far! I make more than I did at my full time job, I live a life that I create and even though it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done I’m so proud I took this step instead of just talking about it the rest of my life! In this first year I also built a course to help other women like myself build a blog that they could monetize whether for a hobby or make it a career! So many people don’t realize that blogging has tons of benefits when it comes to brand partnerships and your audience.

First off it’s so important to have a website/blog if you are an influencer or even a small business because if you are growing an audience on social media you also need a platform you own: your website. This will help reach more people and house everything for your brand where people can always find it. What if something happens to your social media? Then what? You need something that you actually own and control.

Having a blog will also help if you are an influencer and looking to expand your brand partnership offerings by offering blog posts along with social media posts. This is a great tool to help as brands love having blog posts to corelate with social media posts.

I wanted to talk about how I was able to quit my job as it was a off the cuff decision even though I had been thinking about it for a while before. The long and the short of it is I started building a blog that was able to support me through brand partnerships, content creator, and educating others. Without my blog I would have never been able to leave my job. My blogging platform on my website has allowed me to connect with my audience as well as brands.

I wanted to share a common theme I’ve found while talking to several people lately. When it comes to social media they say they are constantly wasting time. I get it! Let’s talk about blogging and how it can serve you and your business. Most people don’t understand that having a website with a blog on that site can open them up to many different opportunities for them and their business.

Having a blog on your site allows you to offer blog posts as a collaboration opportunity to brands and work with them. It also allows you to work with others in your community with guest posting on your blog or theirs as well. Also having a blog space on your site gives you room to talk and promote different things, whether you have online products, a store front, or offer a service talk about what you do and what you offer on your blog!

Lastly it’s important to have a space you drive your audience to from social media. Social media changes daily and it’s important to have a place that you control and bring people to no matter what!
