Wedding Wednesday: Saying Yes to The Perfect Dress!

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

Travis and I are officially less than a year away from saying I DO, so I wanted to start doing Wedding Wednesdays on the blog! A few weekends ago I went dress shopping at The Perfect Dress Bridal Boutique in Sarasota, FL. I had no expectations going in, just expecting to look around and try dresses on. I didn’t have anything in particular I was looking for at all….I mean NONE AT ALL! I tried on a total of 7 dresses, of all different styles and sizes. On a side note, when you go wedding dress shopping your size doesn’t matter as wedding dresses run super small in size, don’t even look at the size…just my opinion.

Anyways I had the best bridal consultant, Sue, she tried everything from different sleeve options, to veils, headbands, you name it she did everything to give me the best dress shopping experience and that she did! I highly recommend The Perfect Dress for all your wedding needs! Sue helped me narrow the search down to two dresses that were similar in style but very different feels! I did end up saying YES to The Perfect Dress and couldn’t be happier with my choice! I’m sharing some of the dresses I tried on below along with some photos from the bridal boutique. Bottomless Brunch with The Fountain Kitchen & Wine Bar

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

This past weekend Travis and I had the opportunity to attend Bottomless Brunch at The Fountain Kitchen & Wine Bar in Sarasota! We are huge foodies and love brunch so of course we were super excited to start off our Saturday with some yummy food and drinks!

If you have never been, The Fountain Kitchen & Wine Bar is quite literally located right behind a fountain and is located in the historic district of Sarasota, FL. The location itself if perfection located among super cute shops and businesses, this is a great brunch spot! The restaurant has a great patio space, perfect for when the weather is nice, we really enjoyed it! The inside is chic as well with a modern feel and focus on the bar and the wine on the walls, it’s so fun and different! Anyways, let’s talk drinks, first off the bottomless drinks are amazing and you have the option of mimosas or bellinis (my personal favorite). Next up the food, y’all the food what AMAZING! The menu is simple with something for everyone, whether you like sweet, savory, or classic there is something for you! I chose to go with the french toast with fresh berries and bacon, which was some of the best french toast I have ever had! It was perfectly soft and fluffy and the berries and cream were a perfect pairing! Travis ordered the breakfast pizza, if was more than a personal size and topped with eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, cheese and onion, it was Travis approved and he finished the whole thing! To top it all off the service was amazing! Our glasses were never empty and we were always taken care of!

So needless to say we had a great time at brunch on Saturday not only were the food and bottomless drinks amazing, the ambiance was so calming and easy going! It was so easy to enjoy ourselves and take our time sipping our drinks and relaxing on the patio! I would highly recommend checking them out for your next brunch! Check out their who menu HERE they are also open for lunch and dinner!

L-O-V-E & Valentines

Happy almost Valentine’s Day!

This is another super fun and Valentine’s inspired look for y’all! I grabbed this LOVE sweater from Old Navy during Christmas time funny enough and saved it for this month because it was a perfect fit! I paired it with my favorite high waisted shorts from Loft, pink Pumas from TJ Maxx and pink Michael Kors crossbody! I love a great sporty look and this one is so fun and kind of reminds me of old school jock sweaters, does anyone else love the movie Grease?! Anyway this is a great look if you are doing something casual tomorrow or maybe going shopping or brunch this weekend!

Travis and I have never been huge on the holiday, we don’t need a holiday to show how much we love each other but that’s just us. We actually have never had a good Valentine’s Day anyways and there is to much pressure on this holiday as it is. This year we are keeping it super low key, going out to our favorite BBQ spot and not worrying about pre-fixed menus, again that’s just us, to each his own.

To be honest I just love the pink and red and all the half off candy the day after Valentine’s Day, anyone else? Probably the best park about Valentine’s Day especially when I was younger and single was running to Target the day after Valentine’s and buying myself flowers and chocolate, buying myself a gift! LOL! It’s so important to love yourself first! Self love is key, don’t let a holiday change your mind or think that you have to be with someone, just saying.

Anyways enough of my rambling about this holiday! We are headed home this weekend for a special collaboration as well as tons of wedding planning! I will be taking you all along on IG and sharing more here on the blog when we get back! For now let me know what you have planned for tomorrow, or what outfit you’ll be sporting!

Give Me All The Hearts

Happy Wednesday Lovelies!

Sorry for the hiatus in January, but I’m back and so excited to share my first Valentine’s look with y’all! This is probably one of my favorite looks to date! You all know I love a good graphic t-shirt and this conversation heart one from Nordstrom is super soft and comfy! I paired it with other pieces I already had in my closet. The skirt is from Loft, I actually showed you a different way to wear it last Valentine’s Day along with velvet Nine West pumps and a fun pink Michael Kors bag! This look is just so fun and festive without being serious and could be great for spring too! Again everything you see was on sale!

It’s becoming more important to me to purchase key pieces to change a look or that I can already wear with other pieces I have in my closet! This T-shirt I believe was $34 but the rest of the look I already had, but it changed the look enough that I had a whole different outfit! Just like everyone else I love a great deal and changing up my closet!

What is your go to Valentine’s Day look? Do you like more casual or are you more of a full glam kind of girl? Let me know in the comments!!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year beauties!

After a hiatus at the end of 2018 I’m back and ready to take on the new year! Without getting to personal 2018 ended with a bang and not in the best way. My fiance ended up in the hospital for about a week so we couldn’t make our holiday travels, our priority because getting him healthy and we were able to bring him home on Christmas Eve, Woot! He’s on the up and up and doing well, shout out to everyone that sent texts and called and gave us support, especially my parents! Then we had some more things happen before we rang in the new year. We are working through all of this and are taking it one day at a time!

Now for happier news, Travis and I have chosen a wedding venue and have started booking vendors for our big day next year!!! I’ll be doing more wedding blog posts for y’all this year about how we found our venue and the reason behind it.

Now for the first look of 2019, this year I’m having more fun with fashion but streamlining it. Classic and casual has been my style for a long time and that hasn’t changed. These pieces are super affordable and comfortable. The dress is surprisingly from Stein Mart and booties from LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s, the bag is Coach outlet my go to bag for 2018 and necklace from Dillard’s Black Friday Sale. I’m loving the olive green for winter in FL.

This year is a year of change, and I know that’s what everyone says but after everything we went through in 2018 especially at the end I know I am stronger than ever before. I’m confident in myself and being a curvy blogger, yay body positivity! I’m determined to take control of my health and wellness this year and cut out all negativity in my life and only surround myself with the positive! Anyone else? What are your goals for the new year?

Christmas Red Holiday Look

Happy Tuesday beauties!

We are officially one week away from Christmas and I can’t believe it’s here so soon! This year the holiday season has felt like it has come and gone so quickly! Probably because we have had a lot of other things happening this season.

I wanted to share this super festive Christmas look with y’all, it’s great for a party or even Christmas day! The dress is from Old Navy, marked down to $17 and I paired it with black heels from Target and a fun black bag from Banana Republic, and topped it off with some vintage earrings and fun cuff bracelet. This dress just screams Christmas and can definitely be perfect for the office, with flats, or maybe even tights and super sparkly shoes! I just knew I had to share it with you guys before the holidays ended!

Next week will be busy for us between Christmas, traveling, my birthday, my mom’s birthday, New Year’s and our anniversary, December is our busiest month, that’s for sure! We are already setting goals for 2019 and really making strides with planning our wedding! I’ll be getting some posts together for you for all those things too!

For now I hope you have the most wonderful Christmas next week and will catch up with y’all the second half of the week!

Perfect Plum Party Look

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I’m shot some holiday looks recently and wanted to start sharing them since now is the time all your holiday parties and festivities are happening! Right? So to start off I’m going more subtle holiday with this plum dress from Bealls, that’s right Bealls. How fun is this dress? Simple with some fun detail up top making it a little sexy but still great for a work party! This look would even be cute with tights and booties for the office! Overall a super classy look for any occasion and can be paired with tons of different accessories, which is a plus!

I paired this look with my go to black pumps from Target! These babies are my perfect black heel and I need like 5 more pairs. for jewelry I used simple earrings with a fun bracelet both from Dillard’s clearance jewelry sale last Black Friday and a vintage clutch from a hole in the wall boutique to go with our metallic accessory vibe that’s happening!

I can’t wait to share more holiday inspired looks with you all! What are your go to looks for holiday parties and festivities? Let me know in the comments below!

Christmas Decor: My Favorite Places & Best Deals

Happy December Everyone!

I can’t believe we are already nearing the end off 2018! It’s unreal! Anyways we are in my favorite month of the year! I absolutely love everything about the holidays! Christmas, my birthday, my mother’s birthday, our anniversary, and New Year’s all in one month, makes for a crazy but super fun month!

Probably my favorite thing about the holidays is all the holiday decor and giving people gifts, it’s the most happy cheerful time of year! This year there are tons of places to get great holiday decor and I’m sharing some of my favorites with y’all in this post and easy ways to dress up your home for the holidays!

We tend to decorate our tree with ornaments that are sentimental to us, nothing super trendy just meaningful. Well I snagged a few fun ornaments to add to the mix this year from Michael’s. Michael’s currently and for the last few weeks have had ALL Christmas decor for 50% off and they always have coupons that can be applied to your purchase. These glass ornaments came out to be about $3 a piece and they had a wide selection of super fun things for your tree!

Probably one of the decorations I love the most are holiday signs and I bought a ton this year for around the apartment. The middle sign is super sassy and is on our bar cart, totally appropriate right?! LOL. The other two signs site in our windows with a few other signs around the tree with lights. These are all from HomeGoods and Michael’s at super affordable prices from $10-$3 per sign on sale!

Another Michael’s find are these beautiful and super fun peppermint twist trees! These are made of clay they are super light weight and really pretty anywhere in your home. I added these to our bar cart for a little bit of fun! These range from $10-$4 on sale and come in three different sizes.

More super great decor from Michael’s is this great pair, this precious nutcracker and sparkle tree.  These are on my desk in my office area as my desk accessories are rose gold and metallic. They had an assortment of decorations for every style whether you want to be super colorful, traditional, or trendy there is something at Michael’s for you!

I tend to decorate all the rooms in our apartment a little differently depending on the decor and colors in the room. So our bedroom has the fun bright colored decorations, our bathroom has some neutral toned decorations and the living dining area has more tradition style.

How do you decorate your home for the holidays? I would love to know!

A Sea of Blue

Happy Thursday y’all!

This is a throwback Thursday to my favorite look I work on our recent cruise! I mean I love the blue on blue aspect of this whole thing. When planning my looks for the cruise this was a definite, you know blue seas, blue outfit, you get it! Anyway this dress is from Forever 21 and I got it for a steal for under $20, and finished the look with these fun blue tinted aviators and my favorite summer wedges from Macy’s.

We shot this look at the top of the ship in some of my favorite areas. I just love all the blue tons and the I just love how the whole look cam together.

On a side note I have some great gift guides coming along with fun holiday looks and maybe even some recipes too! I can’t wait to share with you all!

Our Cruise on The Disney Dream

Sorry this post isn’t going up until Friday this week y’all. We have been super busy between traveling, wedding planning, my photography and getting ready for the holidays life is super overwhelming…in a great way! Anyway, a few weeks ago I embarked on my first cruise EVER! Call me crazy but the movie Titanic stuck with me ok, I tend to over think things, lol!

I was the photographer for Chris and Mer’s wedding that was taking place on The Disney Dream and Travis was in the wedding so therefore we were going on this cruise. Travis and I have never taken a cruise together and me never so we were in for an adventure.

As a first time cruise goer I didn’t have any problem with sea sickness or anything like that (thank goodness) and loved all the beautiful parts of the ship, especially for the wedding photos! So many great spots! The food was amazing everyday and the customer service in general was on point, it is Disney after all.

If you have never been on a cruise and are preparing to go soon I would keep a few things in mind. Do your research, if you are stopping anywhere on your trip see where you’re docking has to offer; excursions, shops, food. Also take everything into account; as in gratuities, extra drinks, souvenirs ex, make sure you know exactly what you are planning on spending when you get on the ship. It will take all the stress off you later if you plan ahead! Above all else have a blast! Order the extra dessert, lounge by the pool and attend all the shows, we had a great time and can’t wait to plan our next trip!

Below are just a few highlights from our trip! We loved the towel animals every night, all the yummy treats, and really enjoyed Castaway Cay!

Do you have any trips planned that are coming up? I would love to hear about where you’re traveling to!

Cranberry Corduroy Look

Happy Friday Everyone!

Sorry I’ve missed you the last two Wednesdays! Last Wednesday we were on our cruise and this Wednesday was Halloween, so I’m catching you up with another fall look that I’ve been loving! I’m really enjoying this cranberry corduroy skirt from Forever 21+ the fit is perfect as well as the length! I’m especially excited to pair this with tights for the cooler months. The top y’all have seen before, this Loft top is a great staple for your wardrobe! It can be dressed up or down and the color and fabric are perfection! Paired with a LC Lauren Conrad bag from last season and Halogen studded flats from Nordstrom Rack! These accessories are some of my favorites for Fall and they are the perfect finishing touch on a look!

I’m currently working on gathering some fun holiday pieces to share with you guys! Please let me know if you are interested in gift guides or certain looks for the holidays! Whether it’s glitz and glam or my top picks for gifts just let me know what you would like to see!

This weekend I’m working on taking down the Halloween decorations and maybe pulling out some holiday decor! :) my favorite time of year! I’m so excited!

Classic Fall Style with Loft

Happy Wednesday lovelies!

I have another fall look for y’all! This one reminds me of horse back riding with the high neck and tie detail on the top and the blazer with chic elbow pads this look has all the details! This entire look is from Loft minus the shoes! These leggings are amazing, super comfy but also look more like pants than leggings, a big plus for the office! Again the top has fabulous details and can be worn with jeans for a more casual look. The blazer is a staple piece to have in your closet and this one is perfect especially for this Florida weather! It’s more of a sweater material but has the structure of a heavier jacket along with great details again would be great with jeans or even a skirt.

These pieces are great investment pieces and great mix and match items which are worth every penny. For me personally I tend to sway more towards classic timeless pieces and only purchase a few trendy pieces because the classic pieces will always be in style and a better idea to invest in.

What are your must have pieces in your closet? What do you invest in? Let me know!
